LinkedIn Learning: Access to the learning platform
Make the most of LinkedIn Learning as a voluntary professional development opportunity!
Develop your professional and personal skills at your own pace: LinkedIn Learning offers university staff six months’ free access to courses in business, technology and creativity.
There are 499 licences available as part of the pilot scheme; the university covers the licence and course fees.
Course range and usage
This access provides access to more than 24,000 courses and certifications in the fields of business, creativity and technology – covering topics such as communication, time management, leadership, project management and digital skills. The offering also includes a wide range of courses on Microsoft Office applications, as well as Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365. In addition, learning resources on using Microsoft Copilot are available. The courses can be accessed at any time and from any location.
Registration and access
To use LinkedIn Learning, please register for the course. Your registration will be processed promptly. You will then receive further information and the access link by email.
Voluntary participation and data protection
- Use of LinkedIn Learning is voluntary. Naturally, there are no disadvantages to not using the service.
- Access is provided on a pseudo-anonymous basis. LinkedIn receives neither names nor email addresses, but only pseudonymous identifiers that do not allow any conclusions to be drawn about individual persons. Personal data analysis by LinkedIn or the university is therefore not possible.
- By actively applying for access to the voluntary continuing professional development programme ‘LinkedIn Learning’, you confirm that you have been informed of the risks associated with the processing of your personal data in non-secure third countries, and, having taken these risks into account, you expressly consent to the transfer of data under the conditions set out below.
Licence Terms and Conditions
The licences are valid until March 2027 as part of the pilot project. Regular use of the professional development platform is a prerequisite. If access is no longer required, the licence can be returned and made available to another person.

* Information on data processing: As we use ‘LinkedIn Learning’ for this voluntary professional development programme, personal data may be transferred to so-called ‘non-EEA countries’. ‘Non-adequate third countries’ are defined as countries outside the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA) for which no adequacy decision has been issued by the European Commission. When data is transferred to such countries, there may be particular risks regarding the enforceability of data subjects’ rights, the availability of effective legal remedies and potential access by state authorities, as a level of data protection comparable to that in the EU may not be guaranteed there.
